Cappadocia, Karatay Han, Mt Nemrut, Ataturk Dam

DAY1, transfer you from your hotel in Istanbul (or Izmir) to the airport for your flight to Kayseri.

DAY2, Cappadocia, stopping at the great Karatay Han before proceeding to Adiyaman.

DAY3, visit the magnificent funerary monument at the peak of Mt Nemrut, massive Ataturk Dam and Overnight Sanliurfa.

DAY4, From Sanliurfa, we proceed to the on-going archaeological dig at Gobekli Tepe. continue to Diyarbakir and another ancient settlement.

DAY5, From Diyarbakir, we continue to Mardin, visit Deir-Al-Zafaran (the Saffron Monastery),

Then drive to Hasankeyf.

DAY6, drive to Van via Akhtamar Island.

DAY7, travel south along a branch of the Silk Road (Ipek Yol) to visit Hosap Castle.

visit to the 3000-year-old Van Citadel.

DAY8, In Dogubeyazit, visit the spectacular Ishak Pasha Palace before continuing our journey north skirting around the western edge of Mt Ararat.

DAY9, Using Kars as our base we will continue to Ani Cathedral. spend the morning at the great medieval Armenian Kingdom.

DAY10, Visit the Aras River west through the First World War battlefield of Sarikamis.

DAT11, We drive north through the Pontic Alps, continue over the 2390m Kopdagi Pass, Altindere Valley.

DAY12, transfer you from your hotel in Trabzon to the airport for your flight to Istanbul (or Izmir).
